This gallery is a melange of my photographic styles as well as a look into my daily life. I try to capture something new every day or else to find something that fits the day. It's a great excuse to carry my camera with me more often than not, and it allows me to stop and take those pictures that need to be taken.

Shades of White in Harsh Light

This was part of an exercise to master white objects in different lighting situations. What the heck, it was a great excuse to pick up a dozen white roses while I was grocery shopping this afternoon. I ran out of time to do what I would have liked with these, so we may see roses again if I cart them back outside for another stab at it tomorrow.

Busy Boy

One last shot from this week's one-year-old session. I think every parent has felt like this is reality at some time. Notice though, he's happy everywhere he goes. I could just hug him to pieces.

Lollipop Power!

Maybe this is why my little walker decided to take off in yesterday's photo. Mommy and Daddy give him healthy food. The photographer brought candy. I've probably ruined him for life with his very first sugar buzz, but we'll do anything for a good shot.

Here are the rest of the images from his session. This little guy is so adorable that it would be hard to go wrong.

Run to Mommy!

The serendipity of this image was just too good to be true. I was taking one-year-old birthday pictures in this little guy's bedroom. He had taken a step or two, and was very good at walking with push toys -- but he hadn't actually walked on his own yet. When I heard his mother's "Oh my goodness, look at you walking all the way across the room all by yourself!" I just started shooting. Because I had been doing tight shots only moments before, this zoom was inevitable. I feel so honored to have been in the room for these first real steps, and love the motion in this shot. Look out world, here he comes!

Introducing the world's most promising Porsche Performance Specialist -- my son -- the tall handsome one. So sorry that this is just a snapshot. It was, however, a very big day.

Congratulations Ian. We are so very proud of you and we love you very much. Now, go into the world and do well . . . but more importantly, go into the world and do good.

Pretty Pretty Prom Dress Petticoats

Do they still call them petticoats? Actually, this looked like part of the dress, but I remember wearing lace petticoats under my church dresses when I was little. The skirts were so stiff they would stand up on the floor in the middle of my room all by themselves.

Oops! Have I just spilled the beans on my age?

Sunset Across A Road

I don't usually do a whole lot of post processing, but did a little dabbling today. I tried cropping out the road too, but then the trees looked like they were about to topple over.

So, do you think the label is organic too?

And, is it really necessary to put a sticker on every single piece of fruit in the store? I have a mental image of Santa's elves in the off season sitting on stools with rolls of stickers, applying labels one by one to all of our fruits and veggies.

Good Morning!
Add a little peanut butter for protein and honey to help it slide down. A big cold glass of milk too. Coffee? Well that started before sunrise. Ready for a busy Saturday.

Staying up too late tonight playing! Technically it's May 2 anyway.

I've always wanted to create a composite photo like this one, and finally had the opportunity at a recent senior portrait shoot. She was a great sport about experimenting.
We took these at the elementary school that she attended, so it should be special to her. We had been shooting on the playground earlier.
