Ryann Chelsea in the Rain

Oh . . . the fragrance of this little gem is straight from heaven. Mmmmmm... delish.

It's hard to say what's more exciting. The fact that the Ryann Chelsea Plumeria is actually open or the rain that fell. Yes! Those are REAL raindrops, not the kind that come out of a spray bottle. We only got a trace, but it was a very welcome trace.

The humidity is definitely up. I can tell because my lenses are fogging up for the first time this summer. Maybe that will condense into some more rain. Otherwise, going outside is like walking into a sauna. UGH! I keep reminding myself that some people pay lots of money to sit in a steam bath. We get it for free.

Living on the Edge -- I was hungry and went to the grocery store.
Not quite the same as fresh from the field, but it's the best this city-fied small-town girl can do anymore.

Fruit Salad Tonight?

Here's wishing I lived closer to Matt so I could put this alongside his Mac and Cheese recovery dinner.

I played a little more with my orange juice picture concept today, and although I came up with some ideas that I need to pursue further, I still never got any images that truly blew me away.

Why is it that I just want so badly to impress myself?

Anyway . . . I gave up on the juicy pics and got out the grapes. The bananas escaped for the time being. Now I owe my family one decently prepared meal at an equally decent hour for a change . . . so I'm done shooting for now. This is straight out of camera, but at least I have a daily!

One A Day Plus

Ceviche -- The perfect lunch for a hot summer day.

The un-progressing kitchen remodel (See May 30 http://spccreative.smugmug.com/gallery/4550624_LCxaW#304104538_jZZPo ) and some other issues have made me very grumpy. Thankfully Mike takes very good "care" of me and knows how to get me out of the funk.

We went downtown to see the new Discovery Green park and to the Galleria to see an exhibit of sculptures built from Red Bull cans. It was all free except for the gas to get there and the parking downtown. AAAARRRGH I'm never going to get used to having to PAY someone just to leave my car for a little while.

Naturally we had to stop for lunch, and here it is.

We recently picked up a tiny little Nikon Cool-Pix point and shoot for the occasions when the 40D's would be forbidden or too big to haul around, and that's what I'm using here. It's different, and I'm totally out of my element using it. Isn't that funny? It's supposed to be simple, but now I'd rather dicker with my settings.
