Shelly > June 14, 2009 Can't Help Lovin' That Man o' Mine My wonderful husband was the driving force this weekend in efforts to turn Ian's old bedroom into a functioning studio. It was one of those things I just haven't been able to get off the ground until now, but we are finally making some very good progress. Guess it helps to have an engineer around who is into project management. I picked up the camera and shot this just as we were starting to paint. For some reason, he is the hardest person in the world for me to photograph, but I kind of liked this shot. Thanks to Mike, we're gonna finally Git er Done! Once I added some different treatments and silhouetted the couple, it just came alive. "A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person." -- Mignon McLaughlin

Shelly > May 14, 2008 Run to Mommy! The serendipity of this image was just too good to be true. I was taking one-year-old birthday pictures in this little guy's bedroom. He had taken a step or two, and was very good at walking with push toys -- but he hadn't actually walked on his own yet. When I heard his mother's "Oh my goodness, look at you walking all the way across the room all by yourself!" I just started shooting. Because I had been doing tight shots only moments before, this zoom was inevitable. I feel so honored to have been in the room for these first real steps, and love the motion in this shot. Look out world, here he comes!

Shelly > June 3, 2007 I'm almost hesitant to post this, because mom and dad haven't seen it yet, but I can't pass it up. My baby gift to Dustin's cross country coach was a session for newborn photos. With a baby this tiny and beautiful and two parents who love him so much, you just can't go bad. Well . . . maybe we flinched when he tinkled on mommy blouse during the naked baby pictures, but we'll handle that with photoshop and a hearty laugh. Welcome beautiful baby boy!
